Jullie - 02/19/2008 After having a vehicle with HUD I really wanted one on my new vehicle. I had the VSD Basis installed in my 2005 Envoy for $80 by a local car customization shop. Setting it up was not difficult, however I do recommend having someone else with you when you are doing it. Trying to set the speed is a bit tricky by yourself. Once the speed is set there is really nothing else you need to do.
There are 3 settings for the brightness. An auto dim feature for night time driving would be nice as I found my self switching it for day and night driving. There were a few occasions when the brightest bright was not bright enough in the sun, but overall the reflector sheet that is placed on the windshield did an excellent job. The only thing I wish it did was display the radio info as well. That with my steering wheel controls would make it even more useful for everyday driving. |
