The challenge was laid out before Zero/Sports, convert the standard 5-Speed transmission into a 6-Speed. The goal was to maintain long-term drivability, and even more importantly stress durability. Nothing could be compromised. Prototype after prototype, test after test, eventually the perfect material, form, and arrangement passed the last precision checks and stage tests. Finally, after clearing the Engineers last word, the 6-Speed transmission was complete.First to sixth gear ratios are changed to 1st: 3.083, 2nd: 2.133, 3rd: 1.611, 4th: 1.208, 5th: 0.929, 6th: 0.737 with a final drive ratio of 4.444. Some parts must be replaced depending on the model year.
